Awesome subject Aarron! I met @Tanyaahedo (another Soc Media consultant) on twiitter, then in person for lunch and shopping and we stumbled onto a Soc Media project that she and I can team up on and take to the streets and get businesses to engage with. Good thing can happen when you meet other Soc Media Stars!

Thanks everyone for watching the vid and interacting. We can get all caught up in the brevity of social interaction... I do all the time. I think that if we make a consistent effort to interact past simple retweets, and #ff's twitter, and likes on facebook we can recommend, give input, feedback, and words of encouragement.

This would ad so much value to the people we interact with, and be very rewarding to us as we build relationships, collaborate, and make progress personally and professionally.

I once heard community defined as...

"A group of people that helps you get to places you could not go on your own."

That is right Martin, as someone who helps businesses in this area you can be really instrumental in showing them the right way, and the value of being authentic.

Great message!!! Honestly, I had not thought about social media that way. You are on the ball in stating being social media has been around forever. We are just giving it a "title" via all these new tools. I agree the RT game is getting old and we need to be more personal.

Great post Aaron! I have always told my clients and often need to remind myself that social media doesn't exist without social interaction. The outlets to connect to people are available everywhere but if we're not using them to interact and share knowledge on a personal level than it's we lose the whole social aspect of it.

I love that you mention the RT swaps. I am definitely guilty of that one! Not that it's not good to pass on the reference but it's easy to forget that information sharing strive and builds off other's peoples opinions and advice. If we feel the need to share why not send some input as well.

I think Tim's advice is great! Get out and meet up with locals in your area. Share knowledge face to face or visually via chats. Collaborate and conversing with people while seeing them always you to gain a more personal relationship.

Once again great post man! Have a great weekend!!
