Making the Transition Pt.3

In part 3 of making the transition I talk about building client relationships, their value, and how they can contribute to long term success. I am also looking forward to hearing your client success stories.

Thanks again for watching and interacting with these posts/vids. I would love to hear your client success stories, so feel free to post them in the comments, or email them to me.

  1. Aaron, I completely agree with you.

Building client relationships is essential for your business to thrive.

When I was a full-time freelancer, I learned this lesson and it really paid-off. Even though I only freelance part-time now, those relationships that I built with clients are still reaping me benefits. I have tons of clients who not only give me repeat business, but they also refer me to other clients as well. That is why we should always respect our clients and we should always “leave the door open” if you will. Even though the first project might not have gone the best, I made sure that I kept a good relationship with them, and it eventually led to bigger and better work.

Another thing that helped me was not to only build client relationships, but to also build professional relationships with other freelancers. By doing so, I have received extra work, and I have received some excellent advice from fellow freelancers. I also just posted on my blog as well about the subject. http://designinformer.com/forming-professional-alliances-others/

Thanks again Aaron, and I appreciate the video series. I’ll definitely be using it as a guide when I decide to freelance full-time again. :)
